Since 1989, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) has led multijurisdictional partnerships with CDOT
and local governments to achieve optimal signal timing and coordination on major roadways in the region.
Adjustments to signal timing help reduce traffic congestion, minimize greenhouse gas and other pollutant emissions,
and preserve and improve air quality. Traffic signal timing is also key to ensuring the safety of bicyclists and
pedestrians and the safest and smoothest possible flow for drivers, saving them time and money.
